Build faster with Elementor

By Angela Blake on August 25, 2025

Elementor is the most popular WordPress page builder, with over 5 million active installations. While GiveWP has a long-standing integration with Elementor via a free add-on, our team decided to make it even easier by moving the integration to core and creating some new widgets. This update includes information on how you can leverage this integration for faster building and how it impacts existing add-on users.

💚 Remember to back up your website before updating GiveWP or add-ons.

⚠️ PayPal Standard: sunset delayed!

The September 1st deadline is bumping back to November 1st, giving you a little more time to migrate before donations stop processing through that integration. We'll keep you updated on any changes, but it's still in your best interest to migrate as soon as possible.

Action Required

Migrate to PayPal Donations to avoid any payment issues.

Use Elementor without an add-on

Campaign Page uses Elementor widgets

Building fundraising pages is a breeze with Elementor! GiveWP v4.7.0 includes a native integration with Elementor, so you no longer need the free Donation Widgets for Elementor add-on.

Here's what has changed:

  • Integration: GiveWP now integrates with Elementor by default, no add-on needed!

  • Widgets: New widgets are available, including widgets for Campaign content. Older widgets are included, but are now labeled "Legacy."

  • Campaign Pages: When Elementor is installed & activated, your automatically-generated Campaign Pages will be built with Elementor widgets instead of WordPress blocks.

FAQ

What will happen to the Donation Widgets for Elementor add-on?

The add-on is no longer needed and will be sunset. We'll remove it from the WordPress repository and our website. You can still use it, but it is obsolete for sites updated to GiveWP version 4.7.0 and later. It will not receive updates.

Do I need to update to the new widgets and rebuild my pages?

The native integration is backward-compatible, and all of your widgets will still work. You don't have to rebuild your pages, but we recommend doing it if you can. The new widgets will receive updates and kept compatible with Elementor's latest features, while the Legacy widgets will not.

Where can I find the new widgets?

You can find the new widgets in the GiveWP category in Elementor's widget menu, or you can search for GiveWP. You can tell the difference between old and new widgets because the old ones will be labeled "Legacy."
